Man Jailed On Felony Drug Charges
FRIENDSWOOD — A Houston man was jailed on felony drug charges and a probation violation warrant, authorities said Friday.
Bond was denied for Daylon Kantrell Berry, 23, stemming from a probation violation warrant, Friendswood police said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, stemming from a Thursday search of Berry’s house, police said. Officers claim to have recovered 65 ecstasy pills, crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.
Berry was treated at the Friendswood police station for minor facial injuries suffered during his arrest, police said.

Attorney Appointed For Cold Case Suspect
DICKINSON — A man charged with attempted capital murder who was arrested 19 years after the incident was appointed a state-funded attorney Friday, a court official said.
Dennis Earl Bradford, 40, of North Little Rock, Ark., initially told a magistrate he would hire his own attorney but was qualified under a pauper’s oath Friday. Attorney Mark Diaz was appointed to represent him. Diaz planned to speak to his client during the weekend, he said.
The FBI claims to have matched Bradford’s DNA to an Aug. 10, 1990, assault. Jennifer Schuett, then 8 years old, survived, despite having her throat slashed from ear-to-ear.
