Truck Hauling Heavy Machinery Hits Overpass
GALVESTON — A tractor-trailer hauling heavy machinery caused minor damage Friday after striking an interstate overpass, authorities said.
The tractor-trailer was hauling an excavator at 11:50 a.m. when it struck the Interstate 45 overpass at Teichman Road, knocking chunks of concrete to the ground, Galveston police said.
There was no severe damage to the overpass, police said.

Police: Man Attacked By Three Robbers
GALVESTON — An island resident suffered minor injuries when three men attacked and him, authorities said Friday.
Sam De Zhu, 22, had his bag taken from him about 8 p.m. Thursday in the 7000 block of Lasker Drive by men described between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, police said.
About $100 and personal items were taken during the robbery, police said.

Wanted Man Caught After Dallas Chase
DALLAS — A man accused Friday of leading police near Dallas on a two-hour, multicounty chase has outstanding warrants from two theft cases in Galveston County.
Clinton Eldon Middleton, 22, of Houston, is accused of nearly striking a police officer using spike trips to deflate Middleton’s tires.
Police eventually spun the truck into a ditch filled with rainwater, authorities said.
Middleton has two warrants in Galveston County for his arrest on theft charges, according to sheriff’s office records.
