Gunmen Take Pickup
GALVESTON — Four men who were feigning to be in need of a ride held up a 34-year-old island resident with a shotgun and stole his truck, Galveston police said.
Eric Eubanks was in the 700 block of Winnie about 9:20 p.m. when he was flagged down by four or five men, police Lt. D.J. Alvarez said. One pulled a shotgun and told Eubanks to get out of his red 2000 Chevy S10, police said.
The men drove off without injuring Eubanks, Alvarez said.
Eubanks said Thursday the incident serves as a reminder that not everyone who appears to be in need has honest intentions.
Police found the truck about six hours later.
